Hello Lightridge Chorus Families -
Students have been working hard to prepare for upcoming performances! Below is some information for the month ahead.
Lightridge Chorus Boosters
At the beginning of September, a number of parents met together and collaborated with the intention of setting up a Lightridge Chorus Boosters. We would love to see you at our meeting on Wednesday October 12th at 7:00 PM in the Chorus Room. We will be voting on by-laws, voting on the executive team, and working towards our first steps in supporting Lightridge Chorus to the next level. Lightridge Chorus is in need of parent support for us to establish traditions, scholarships for seniors, and financial stability for the program.
All-County Chorus
Congratulations to the students who were selected for All-County Chorus. Lightridge will be hosting this event this week on Thursday October 13th throughout the day with a concert to follow in the evening. Students who are participating in Honors Chorus can attend the concert as a concert reflection option. Students who auditioned for this also receive an Honors Chorus point for their preparation.
All-District Chorus
Students who are looking to audition for All-District Chorus have until Wednesday October 13th to register. Please ensure that availability for the audition and event when making the decision to register. The auditions will be held on Tuesday November 1st at Woodgrove HS. Timeslots will be allotted to students based upon registration. Please share any specific timeslot conflicts with Ms. Karim. Students have been preparing the audition piece and sight-singing skills in class.
Fall Concert with Lightridge Singers
Lightridge Signers is thrilled to be participating in our first annual Lightridge Chorus Cluster Concert, titled We are One. This concert will include all of Lightridge’s elementary feeder programs and WIllard Chorus and will celebrate the diversity of our growing community. We are starting off with Lightridge Singers performing at this concert and will expand on it in the future with more participating from Lightridge Chorus ensembles. It is highly encouraged that students in Lightridge Chorus outside of the performing students attend and showcase support for the program!

Coffee House - Auditions
Coffee House auditions will be held on Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st. Students can sign up for a slot before or after school to audition - the sign up sheet will be outside of the Chorus Room. There are many students interested in slots for Coffee House. Please ensure the best preparation as competition is strong this year! Ms. Karim will post a list of accepted acts at the beginning of the following week. As a reminder, Coffee House will be on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7:00 PM in the Cafeteria. This is a open-mic style concert and will feature all Lightridge Chorus ensembles as well as smaller performances. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year and we will be selling raffle tickets for baskets as well as concessions. Tickets for the event will be $10 - the link for the payment portal will be sent out closer to the date!
