Welcome, Lightridge Chorus Families -
It has been such an exciting start to the school year! I have had such an incredible time reuniting with students and building relationships with my new students as well. Not many teachers have the privilege of watching students grow from year to year. I feel nothing but gratitude for having the opportunity to teach your children. For those of you who are new to Lightridge Chorus … WELCOME!
As many of you know, building a strong relationship with the families of my students is a priority of mine. The Lightridge Sings Newsletter will share updates with you about the Lightridge Chorus Program!
Handbook + Calendar
Below is the Lightridge Chorus Handbook and Chorus Calendar. Once you have taken a look at both of these please complete the Permission Click and pay the Course Fee. PLEASE read the handbook and calendar in its entirety - write down all of the mandatory dates and trip dates. More information about the costs of these trips will be available and we will have trip interest meetings. If you have any questions, please email me at helai.karim@lcps.org. All forms and payments are due on Friday, September 9th.
SPIRIT WEAR
Lightridge Chorus will be selling fundraising apparel until September 11th! Visit the website through Cheer Sports to purchase apparel. All apparel will be delivered through CheerSports. Car Decals are also for sale for $5 cash in the chorus room throughout the year. Students can grab them as needed. They are in the same style as the athletic car decals.
Parent Involvement
There are many elements of a choral program that need to be established for our students to have the best experience possible filled with valuable opportunities. For this reason, I hope to collaborate with families to establish traditions [scholarships | college visits | community service] that will contribute to the overall value that this program can bring to our community. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in being a member of the LCPA! Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:00 PM in the Chorus Room.
Over the years families have rallied together to support the program’s needs. This year we are needing that support more than ever. Items on this Amazon Wishlist provide students with water and snacks for concerts and rehearsals. I am looking to ask for these snack and water donations from all families this year - please choose either a case of water or a box of snacks listed to donate on our Amazon Wishlist. If you’d like to assist the program further, there are other items on the wishlist that we’d love your support with!
I am blessed to be at Lightridge and cannot wait to see what we accomplish this year as a department. I am beyond ready to have students make memories and grow as musicians. Go Bolts!
